As an important part of the GARDENA Sprinklersystem, the GARDENA drainage valve protects underground-installed systems from frost damage. This is achieved through automatic draining after the system stops operating – the valve opens when the water pressure in the system drops to approximately 0.2 bar. Drainage valves must be installed at the lowest point of the irrigation system and placed in a layer of washed coarse gravel to ensure reliable drainage.
